T-Berd won their only meeting this year. A 1st round DC match on hards. Stan has won the only 2 meetings on clay, a first round match in Rome 2005 and a 2nd round match in Rome 2010.

Who ya got?

I voted for Stan in two. It's his surface and he is on a hot streak lately. And I want a Nadal - Wawrinka final.

You folks are quick today, with the SF polls! Nice job. I think I gotta go Stan, but I'll say 3. But it IS nearly 2am in Madrid, and he just played a physical match. Tomorrow will be a test of Wawrinka's fitness, if he has to play 3, and tell us something about RG.

Whoa didn't realize it was so late :s Thought it was only after 11pm here :D
That will definitely impact tomorrow alright. Berdych will be keen to defend his points from reaching the final last year but in any case, reaching the semis even if he loses is a great result. Hoping for a Wawrinka v Nadal final too. Berdych's power and ability to hit through clay courts is impressive but doing it against Nadal will be a tough ask. Wawrinka has a much more natural clay game and I'd prefer to see him square off against Nadal.

On a side note I'd forgotten just how crazy high Berdych's ball toss was on his serve and it actually reminds me of Steffi Graf's serve in that respect. Basically that was the main reason he failed miserably in the windy conditions against Murray at the US Open last year. The high ball toss was getting blown everywhere.

I also think Wawrinka-Nadal would be the entertaining final.

(Good point about the Berdych ball toss. It was a big factor in nullifying the effects of his serve in that USO SF. The impact was cumulative, too, because it frustrated him. But Murray has more weapons, are used them strategically to combat the wind. That served Murray in the final, as well, v. Djokovic.)

Stan The Man in 3. I hope. A Nadal/Berdych final would be deadly boring.

Stan playing solid. Anyone for Fed-Stan match in RG??!!:)I would love to see it. It's going to be brutal. Or may be not, if Stan continues to play like this :D

The way both are playing lately Wawrinka would chew Fed up out spit him out. So would Tommy Haas and a whole lot of other players.

On a side note not related to the tennis at all, Tiriac sure picks nice ball girls for his tournaments

Well, gonna be a great final but that was a shame for Berdych whose serve really deserted him in the end.
