Thanks Scoop. Ivan sounds a smart, analytical guy. I was happy when he won Indian Wells.

Interesting that he says he started late in the sport at 9 years of age... it had me wondering about players who started later and made the Top 50. Anyone pick up a racquet in their early to mid teens and make it?

Great player who was talented and tough enough to win a GS but he was in a rather tough era - I think he can uplift Fed to a higher level still - Ljubicic is a brilliant guy and Fed was very close to winning two GSs last year but unfortunately Fed had to play Djokovic at his best in those two finals -

I loved Ljubo, he was a clever player, very fair play and respectful towards his opponents

Ljubicic was class and a good guy and played the game clean and fair though he did have a bit of a spat with Roddick at US Open one year which featured Ljubicic calling up Roddick on the phone to sort out their problem which sparked over some press conference quotes which I do not recall the details offhand -

Ljubicic is from Banjaluka in Serbian Republic which is actually a part of Bosnia. Several years ago he selected a large group of children from there to take them to a tennis camp in Italy. Once he called which child he had chosen , adults present started looking at each other. He asked them what's wrong and they asked if he knew that exactly all of those selected children are of Serbian ethnicity. Ljubicic replied that it made no difference to him and took them all to Italy.
