Even though she didn't get past the round of 16 in Doha, Li Na is the new number 2 player in the world ranking. This is a first for her, or any Asian player for that fact.
This will be official Monday when the rankings are released.

Congratulations Mrs. Li, I didn't think you could do it.

So, the top two women in the most popular women's sport in the world are both over 30.

You have just got to love it...

If Aga beats Yanina today, she is the new 3rd in the world and Vika falls to 4th.
If Petra wins Doha, she is 5th and sugarova drops to 6th.
If Simona... I am saying nothing. jinx :s

Congrats to Aga for getting 3rd in the world after her win over Yanina. Vika is ranked 4th now.
JJ climbed to 7th and Errani down to 8th.

Meh I'll take notice when she plans well for an entire season (like Serena). Someone who shows up for a few slams a year and does great is not a great player.

"Damn you" Petra Kvitova... (just joking) If Petra reached the final tomorrow and then lost to Simona,
then Simona would have been ranked NO.7 in the world by tomorrow !
From 11 to 7 in one month !...
Simona can still be ranked NO.9 if she wins tomorrow v Kerber :)
Errani will drop then to NO.10 from NO.7

The crazy world of the WTA rankings ;)
Simona Halep has a great chance to go from NO.9 to NO.7 next monday without winning a set in Dubai !
To avoid that, JJ must get to the semi final, and Petra must get to the final. Not easy for both.

Simo will climb to 7 or 8 without winning a match in Dubai ! :D
