Has anyone seen 17-yr-old Karen Khachanov play. Is he the next Safin? In reality it is far too early to tell, we may never see his name again. But he is 6'6" 180 lb and on the ATP computer has played only 2 tournaments, wildcard entries into St Petersburg and Moscow. He has a 3-2 record, all against top 100 players. He beat Hanescu in St Pete before losing to Rosol. Then this week in Moscow he beat Ramos and Tipsarevic (!) before winning just 4 games against Karlovic today. For a kid who maybe hasn't even turned pro to show up at two ATP level tournaments from nowhere and win 3 matches I think is incredible. Has anyone seen this guy on tennistv or anything?

To early to tell. Right hander, double handed backhand, quite tall. We will see.

Good early results but today he was bageled by Ivo, so needless to say he is raw and inconsistent (if he can go from beating Tipsy to not holding serve vs. Ivo). Does he seem to be a competent mover?

I have watched some youtube videos of the guy. Small sample. I liked the ground strokes, I liked the way he moved to his forehand, not so much to the backhand. His body needs to get stronger overall. Upper body looked weak, but he is young and probably still growing. I liked the serve motion. Like I said, small sample, but I liked what I saw so far. Raw, but good.
