Juan Martin Del Potro profile translated from La Nación (Argentina)

For you Del Potro fans, and perhaps for others, I've translated a profile piece on Del Potro (click here.) It's from yesterday's Sunday magazine from the Argentinian 'paper of record.' There's a lot there: interesting anecdotes, how he chose tennis over football, a bit of Davis Cup controversy, and (are you reading this Kieran?) why he's a Springsteen fan. I hope you check it out.

Thanks for reading, RB! It's a charming and quirky piece, but insightful, too, I thought.

Excellent read. Seems good natured and down to earth, although maybe a bit old for the teddy bear.

I've read it so many times, I think that was the author's takeaway...though he can be well-spoken and focused on his career, there's definitely a small boy not far from the surface.

Thanks Moxie
I have always been a fan of Del Potro the 'gentle giant' he is often called.
A really personal insight
I loved it...

I agree, Fashionista. I also think of him as a gentle giant -- until he hits a 90+ mph forehand. Then he doesn't look so gentle anymore.

Great read, Moxie. Thanks. I've always liked him, but this has made me like him even more. (Although it will be a long time before I get the vision of him dressed as Pluto out of my head ...)

A great read Moxie, thanks for translating it. He comes across as such a humble person, no artifice.
