I'm happy to advise that Johan Kriek has agreed to become a blog contributor to the Tennis Frontier.

Johan won the Australian Open in 1981 and 1982, a number of other singles and doubles titles and is currently the only professional player at his level who is dedicated to personally teaching students in the sport.

Johan and his wife Daga (a former nationally-ranked player in Europe) run the Johan Kriek Tennis Academy in North Carolina.

Johan's Blog is at:

Cheers AP. We're really pleased. A big thanks to his wife Daga, who runs the Academy in North Carolina with Johan.

Fabulous to have him here as a poster. I watched many a Kriek match back in the old days. He was a longtime top player and won two AOs! I saw from another thread he had one of the best career records in five set matches, something like 21-5 or outrageous thing. He was up there with Borg in terms of physical abilities.

Koenig was just talking about Kriek on tv. regarding player development and such...

I hope he was saying good things, in which case what a great coincidence.
