Serbia’s Jelena Jankovic staged a remarkable turnaround during her final clash with German Angelique Kerber to take the WTA Hong Kong title 3-6, 7-6 (4), 6-1.
Jankovic trailing 5-6 in the second set, and a set down looked an unlikely winner with the 27 year old Kerber edging toward the title. Jankovic extended the final into a deciding set by forcing the tie-break and then claimed it 7-4 in decisive fashion.
The momentum swing was significant as the 30 year old veteran Serb cruised the the final set, winning it emphatically to take her 15th WTA title.
