In a final entry in his blog, Jarkko Nieminen talks about his experience in that day, the last time he played with Roger Federer who came specially for his friend:

Nice gesture of Roger, just of his ATP Tour Final, to go to Helsinki to his friend's celebration.
I wish Jarkko all the best in his future.

Highest ranking Finnish player ever, #13 in 2006 for a bit before finishing the year #15.

Another one of Generation Federer retires. Who's next, Mikhail Youzhny?

My bet is Tommy Haas.

Same here and will be sad to see him go but he hasn't played much since his return from his last shoulder surgery and his ranking is way too low as a result. Not sure he even used protected ranking as it seemed he just took a few wild cards here and there. With the birth of his second daughter I guess he's pretty likely to retire next year alright. Would like to see him have a few good matches on the US hard courts before he calls it a career.

I would think Haas is a foregone conclusion. He's really dwindled away the last couple years. Crazy to think that his first year on tour, 1996, is the last year Boris Becker won a Slam. The point being, Haas has been around for a LONG time.

Radek Stepanek is the same age as Tommy (37). I notice that he is not ready to hang up his racquet, although he has had also injury issues lately.

Yeah I'm thinking he'll stay around longer than Haas. Mostly 'cos he has no kids and is possibly eyeing up the next piece of WTA a$$ :snicker Stepanek I believe still has a steel plate in his neck from a bad neck injury years ago and is still playing at 37. Pretty uncanny really.

I am posting here all the players retirements in 2015, announced by the ATP site.
Besides Jarkko and the separately announced M. Russell, R. Soderling, also 3 more americans have retired, Mardy Fish, Robby Ginepri, Ryan Sweeting and M. Lammer from Switzerland.

In total is only 7, that is a smaller number than the previous 2 years, when there were around 12 players in each year. Another fact that adds to the aging of the tour, retirements are delayed a few years more than before.

Víctor Estrella Burgos is 35 and just had his career best year. Wonder how much longer he'll keep playing.
