It's time to give Djokovic respect , that he deserves.

I want to state that I am not Djokovic fan .
On topic -
Since 2011 He consistent machine
with 5 majors , 16 masters and total 21 titles and 2
WTF ( undefeated )
He is second most consistent player of this era after
Fed.
His slam results were spectacular in last three years
i.e. 3 slam finals per year ( Total 9 finals ) without
injury .
Today his resume
6 Majors
16 masters
3 WTF
41 Titles .
101 weeks at no 1 ( In the era of Two GOAT
candidates)
He already have owned his place in row of legends of
the sport , but peoples still considers him Joker .
Let's think about his future now .
Considering his physical fitness and late peak , We can
assume that 4 more prime years left in him .
Considering slower courts , lack of young talent may
extend his domination period.
Now 6 majored out of 16 is not difficult task for Novak .
Also 10-15 masters out of 36 is also possible plus 2
WTF
Titles are within realm of possibilities .
So he will end the career with
12 slams ( Min)
25-30 Masters
4 WTF
150 weeks at no 1
overall 60 -65 titles .
Is this is the resume of joker ?
Are peoples not respecting him because he is from
Serbia ?
I can't imagine how much he would be hyped if he is
from
Britain / USA .

He has the respect of anyone who knows anything about tennis. He's a 6 time major winner and a lock for the hall of fame. What makes you think people don't respect him? Some people may not like him for some reason or another, but that's different from respect.

He has my full respect. He has worked hard, fixed a broken serve, improved a shaky and wristy forehand to a degree where it can be considered a weapon now (still not as good as his backhand though), and he is showing great improvements at the net. Him being from Serbia should not matter to anyone, and the only thing I kinda dislike about him is the behavior of the people in his box from time to time, which cannot be totally blamed on the guy himself.

He is the best slow/medium pace HC player I have ever seen...if it wasn't for Fed I would say he is the best HC player ever period. He will finish his career with double digit slams and a boat load of titles.

The world respect Novak..........the OP is maybe looking to.........never mind

I think everyone respects Novak. Maybe the OP is referring to his relative lack of popularity compared to Fedal, but that's a different issue. You have to respect a guy who's a major factor everywhere he plays...

No I am referring those peoples who call him joker / Pusher .
Also those who compares Djokovic with Murray .

Djokovic is way ahead than Murray .
As moderator said he have improved his FH , net play , mental fortitude .

What Murray has done?

After Lendl he is more pusher or Pusher 3.0

Because it's not really topical to the ATP tour forum?? Sure if Novak were from the USA or the UK his fanbase would be much bigger. If he were from the USA his popularity would even give the fedal fan base a run for their money. As stated several times already in this thread, that is popularity which is quite different from respect.

I don't hear people calling Novak a pusher, and I am a fan of him (big fan!). I don't think he has the popularity in mass culture that Rafa and Rog have, but who cares, people who know about tennis know how good he is. Rafa and Rog are all time greats. I think Novak will enter that group all though a rung below them, but it's hard not to be a little overshadowed in this era.

I think you are being defensive about something that mostly doesn't exist.

Do you want to talk about Novak or complain about Murray? Let's stick to the original subject matter.

Considering the way in which you reference other players (namely Murray and Nadal), for you to complain about Djokovic's nicknames is the height of hypocrisy.

As Broken stated, anyone with a brain respects Djokovic; as Britbox pointed out, there's a difference between liking someone and respecting someone. That I feel the need to reiterate both points should tell you something.

I'm afraid you're wasting your time Tented. Fastgrass clearly doesn't see the irony in his own post. It's laughable really.

I respect Djokovic and what he has achieved in the sport. I've always thought that the 'joker' tag referred to his fun personality. That anyone could or would call him a 'pusher' is just ridiculous.
