I upgraded my iPhone last night and love the new set up, even though it looks a bit like a child's phone now. The icons are more soft-focused and "simple", blurred round the edge. A slightly pastel-crayon look to it, to my eyes. But the camera is improved immeasurably and it has added shortcuts to a control box, and something called "air drop", which I've yet to use, but I think it involves easier sharing between devices.

So far, all apps are working, but the ones I use mainly are whats-app, facebook, Skype and some news apps. Oh, and Sudoku. :p

Anyone get this upgrade? Any problems?

It's recommended you back up your device to iTunes before you go ahead. Typically impatient, I didn't - and don't seem to have lost any data, photos, texts, or anything like that...

I've heard a few people say they've lost photos etc. during the upgrade. I've only got an iphone 4 and only use it for testing things with work (use a Samsung on Android for main use) - not sure if I'll bother to upgrade the iphone - is it worth it?

Hey Shawn,

Just go into your general settings and then Software Update. Make sure you back-up first because there is the risk of losing stuff.

Yo BB,

It's definitely worth it, even if only for the camera, which has so many more options now and more pixels too, it seems. But also, it has greater access to controls, and the lay-out is smarter. It's actually a bit like having a new phone...

I really like the new update. I have an IPhone 5s and haven't noticed any problems. Everything is just a little bit quicker on the phone, even things like deleting emails, using the camera, etc.

On top of what Kieran said you will likely need to have your WiFi turned on and connected to a network. At least you need that for the Iphone 5s
