This is an interview I copied from tennis.com that someone posted about Simona.
Jo here some of the things Simona said in her conference after she got back home:
asked about if she talked more with Serena at the end she said: "She said to me on the podium, that she wants to have a picture with the future #1, and that her mom will make the picture. It was a very nice joke, and i was really glad she told me that. And probably it will happen one day, and although i could not say now if it will happen for sure, i really want that to happen. But as i already said, not the ranking is most important for me, but to win many matches and many titles."
"Serena offered only words of praise about me and was always an example for me. I think she's a great person"
asked about how she related with the other players:
""Friendship between me and Sharapova? It would be the height, do not think, because she has no relationship with the players on the circuit. I talked to everyone outside of Bouchard and Sharapova. Even with Serena talked quite much. I'm really glad I became friends with her (no Kvitova) is a very nice girl. She knows how to win, has already won two Grand Slam ".
Q: after the first set in the final, why didn't you call your coach
S: Bc i don't use to do this, i don't like it, i like to do what i know by myself on the field and what i can in that moment.
q: have you been 100% fit.
S: yes i was 100%, but i put the bandage for safety and to be more calm mentally about it.
asked about how she felt Serena as a person:
"She's very ok. I think she's special as a person. She is very nice with us, at least with me she was very nice. She gave me words of praise and encouragement, so i have only words of praise for her. She always was an example for me and i believe very much that she is the best player atm."
asked about the matches with Serena:
S: in the first match i was very fresh. I think i also surprised Serena bc she didn't knew me, as we hadn't played this year, and probably it was something new for her also. In the 2nd i was pretty tired. I played well and had tough matches. I served pretty well, and my arm kind of let me up in the final. But i am happy that i made it so far, and that i had the possibility to play twice against Serena in the same week.
q: did you actually wanted to play Serena twice (followed by the tanking implication that she could've lost the match with Ivanovici)
S: Not necessarily that i wanted to play her twice. But i did things how i think is normal. I played every match to win, like i always do. And i think i made the decision which gives me peace of mind. I played the match with Ana normally. I tried to win, but i couldn't. And so it happened that i got to meet Serena again in the final. And that wasn't bad, but it wasn't very good either
