How many slams will Djokovic take in 2016?

It's early, I know, but it's also pretty much the off-season to plenty of time to speculate.

I would say at least one slam is a safe bet. AO he would be the overwhelming favorite. The same goes for RG unless Nadal returns. Wimbledon and US Open should be good possible too, considering Murray and an aging Federer being the only realistic competition so far.

I would say 2-3 slams next year.

I'll go with 3 right now and one of them being a Roland Garros title to complete the career grand slam.

Well I hope 4, if not 4 then at least 3, 2 or 1. :yahoo:   Seriously, I hope for another great year from Nole being healthy, happy and another kid, perhaps. B-)

If he remains healthy and motivated, it's very difficult for anyone to beat him in any surface. Federer was playing at a really high level at Wimbledon and US open and it didn't matter. Nadal was dusted at Roland by Nole so next year, Nadal will not have a lot of confidence if they meet again. I think it would take a sublime Federer to beat Nole at Wimbledon and the other two that can present problems are Murray and Stan. Stan has a good game to match up against Nole but i think Djokovic will play him differently next time around. Murray is always tough but Nole has that extra gear when the match goes to distance. I'm betting 2 but he can win all 4.

Fed's going to have to be almost flawless to take Nole out over five these days.  Having said that, I thought he (Fed) played a lot better USO Final than the Wimbledon one.

Well Nole would certainly have to have some really good luck regarding draws and schedule at majors next year.  I think he just overplayed on clay this year and needed maybe one or 2 extra days off before that final.  It made such a huge difference at USO this year that he didn't have to go the distance and play very tough matches before semi and final.  The weather co-operated as well.  If he gets into a semi final battle royale with one of the top, tough guys, then his chances of winning a title would considerably go down.

No wonder his results are so much better in the 1st 3 months of a season, he is fresh and ready. But the middle part, NAHC season has not been kind to him in past few years.

His best chance to win all 4 Majors was this year! Rafa was down, Murray's still a headcase, and Roger's already "past it!" I don't think Nole can sustain this amount of excellence! Sooner or later he'll wear down, the rest of the tour will catch up and actually "finish" an upset, and time marches on for them all! Percentages are definitely getting away from him; it is for all of the "Big 4!"  B-)

He was one win away from the CGS this year.  Proving, once again, how elusive it is.   It's hard to see who is set up to take down Djokovic next.  But no one really saw Wawrinka coming at RG.  I would say all four becomes less probable, not more.  The questions are:  can he do 3 again, and does he get the French, finally?  I'd say both are very possible.  Funnily enough, his goals for 2016 are likely his (stated) goals for 2012:  RG and the Olympic gold.

his play was certainly better, but I have to say... as soon as I realised that the rain had cooled down conditions for the final, I didn't think twice about recording the match and going to bed. I didn't see how Roger was going to win. It's funny how both at Wimbledon and at Flushing the conditions had been perfect for Roger to rampage through the draw until the final. And then the conditions changed. I'm not saying he would have beaten Novak (far from it) but it just made me wince when the ideal conditions for him disappeared and more conducive conditions for Novak appeared. Sigh...

Only 1, maybe 2. I think Rafa will be back to his old form and Murray will be encouraged by winning the Davis Cup so there won't be as many as 4 slams for No1e to win. We should also remember that next year is Olympic year and it is unfortunately not No1e's thing. In 2012 that was also Olympic year many tennis fans, including his haters, expected No1e to win 3 or 4 slams, but he won barely one and played terribly in medal deciding matches at the Olympic games.

Have a little faith! At this moment there are very few who can challenge him. He needs to stay healthy and believe. He'll get at least 2 slams if he does. That us open win with the crowd shows how strong he is in his head, I think it will be another good year.

I doubt that Federer won't win one. He has way too much competitive pride to not respond to what Djokovic has done to him.

Fed's going to have to play out of his skin... but I like his attitude.  He's tweaking his game constantly looking for an edge.

Djoker is a very very tough out... Fed isn't going to overpower him like a redlining Stan - he's just got to be pretty flawless with regards to execution.  I thought he was a lot better at the USO than Wimbledon... he created opportunities at least.
