^ Jack Sock won't be playing the Australian Open,he tweeted he will be back at the indoor event in Memphis in February.At this stage the extent of his surgery is unknown,though reports have suggested that it could be a hip surgery.

John Isner will replace Jack Sock for the USA.
Benoit Paire will replace Jo-Wilfred Tsonga for France.

Nick Krygios has withdrawn from the Hopman Cup,due to a back strain he will be replaced by Matt Ebden

Very hot day expected in Perth today,temp to reach 37C,there is a roof in the main arena.

Bouchard and Safarova are both on court,both the national anthems are being played.

Jake Garner is the umpire,Bouchard won the toss and elected to receive.

Lucie Safarova,playing excellent,effortless tennis,wins the 1st set 6-0 over Bouchard
Just a joy to watch at the moment,she wins the 1st set in 28 mins,she is just hitting her spots on the court,using her lefty serve,lovely clean striking of the ball.

Apart from a little blip when Lucie was serving for the match at 5-3,her fhand which has been impressive all game was broken by Bouchard,Lucie broke back immediately and won the match.Lucie was impressive in all facets of her game today.

Bouchard is in urgent need of a coach,she is traveling with her fitness coach and hitting partner,Lucie caught her out on the court today,especially on her fhand wing,which is woeful,she was pushing her shots,making too many UFE,her second serves need attention as well.Back to the drawing board Bouchard.
