Martina Hingis calls it an year and might retire for the third time.

This is what happens to you when you get inducted into hall of fame and then
clandestinely try to come back into the tour. It is all about Karma.

Come-backs are a hard thing. I can't feel as surprised by this as I was that she decided to try for one, in the first place.

We know Martina can play doubles. Maybe She

and Dani are just not a good fit.

People switch doubles partners all the time. If she and Dani weren't getting along, but Martina wanted to continue playing, then she would have found another partner instead of shutting down for the year.

She's not a fighter she gives up to easily and that's why she only has 5 majors. In addition, to not fixing her serve.

She needs a new partner. I love Dani but ... they don't seem like a good fit. She needs to grab Kirilenko.

She may be more useful as a coach or some other aspect of the game.
Lets be honest about it, as much as I like her and want her to be involved....if she couldn't make much of an impact as a doubles player(with one of the premier doubles player of the day), how is she going to do in singles?

I think as a hall of famer, Hingis knows the answer to my question.
But she could stick around as coach, adviser, reporter, commentator, analyst...

The problems that plagued her during her singles tenure, are the same ones that plague her now. I do agree with Zalvar, a new doubles partner might be needed. While I like Dani, she is not known for her mental fortitude and can be fragile when games get tight. That said I think she should go back to coaching and mentoring. Pav's game noticeably improved when Hingis worked with her.

Maria as noted in my interview with her in June, stated she has no commitment to play doubles at the moment. She wants to concentrate on singles and have the opportunity to recover from her singles matches and not have to play doubles the next day.
Since chatting with her, she has also had some health issues and her singles play has deteriorated quite dramatically. Anyway, I do not think Maria and Martina would be a good fit anyway as a doubles team.

Stéphane Hutin accused Martina, her mom and Silvio (her mom's boyfriend) to have beaten him
Silvio threw a DVD's recorder to his face
Genova's police came home to quiet everybody down, Hutin left home and said he was shocked
Martina kept silence for the moment
Strange affair

Hingis may be gone, but she never goes away from the news.

Who said she cannot beat up on the opponents?

Read http://www.tennis.com/pro-game/2013/09/hingis-camp-estranged-husbands-claims-utterly-ridiculous/49285/

Is she following on the foot steps of Capriati?
