Hewitt to hang up his (reversed) hat after 2016 AO

Hewitt says he will retire after AO 2016, a year from now.

Expected news. He's had a great career. People kinda undermine his accomplishments for some reason, but I think his days in the top 10 were cut down by injuries. He could have at least had a couple of extra years as a relevant "goes deep in most majors" kind of player.

Hewitt's a player I've really grown to like over the years. Didn't like him much at all when he was at his peak but his tenacity, overcoming serious injuries and still playing for the love of the sport has gone a long way to endearment. It will be a sad day when he hangs it up.

I have never been a fan of Hewitt,still he has been the back bone of Australia's Davis Cup team for many years.I think it is a wonderful tribute to Hewitt to appoint him as Davis Cup Captain when he finally retires.

I have the same sentiments about Hewitt as well. Sometimes it just takes a while to appreciate somebody and even like them.

I still remember our first days online, I didn't find you or Darth so much endearing.:lolz: I am sure you felt the same way towards this crazy Nole supporter.
