Imo the weight loss was brought on by John Inverdale of the BBC slagging her on tv saying "she was never a looker". Anyway, here are some better photos of her that I posted during the USO where she looks a lot nicer imo. But yeah, it's definitely a shame she never got in this kind of shape to play on tour as she'd sure have been faster and fitter out there.

I think the point is she is putting in the effort with her weight now where she wasn't as a player. Imagine how lethal she could have been if she was 10-15lbs lighter when she was playing. So it is puzzling a bit to see her put in the effort after her tennis career, but you are probably right it really didn't rear it's ugly head until those comments about her.

Woah...

I was living in France for a time and I asked a French friend what they thought of Bartoli. He said they thought she was kind of weird and oddly attached to her father. So basically what we think of her.

ANYWAYS...He also said that in an interview once when she was asked about her fitness she said something like her dad didn't want her to lose weight because it would get her too much attention from men. Im not sure if this was some kind of weird French joke or not.

Anyways she looks much better in the US Open pictures. This dress is not faltering nor is that eye makeup.

I really truly hope she's enjoying her post tennis life now. She went out on a high note and to be honest had a decent career... I think that's wonderful.

Ok before it was kind of hard to tell because of angles and the dress... But from her arms its clear this could be an eating disorder situation. Theres almost no muscle tone there and 0 fat from a girl who we know is naturally on the thick side.

This makes me really sad. I always thought Marion was an eccentric with really thick skin. She had to deal with comments her whole career about how odd she was from the French and international media. Maybe there was increased attention from the Wimbledon win? Maybe leaving tennis she finally wasn't focused so much that she heard all the hurtful criticism?

Keep it healthy Marion theres a lot of people who still love that quirky full figured girl who finally won her Wimbledon and then threw down the mic and exited stage left.

She was pretty certain she wasn't coming back. Think it was mostly a counter to the nasty comment from John Inverdale of the BBC that she was never a looker. She's taken it way too far now though. Seems she just secretly got married so maybe that was the reason for all the weight loss.
