That is the question. With all that talent, why can't he break through to a bigger level of results? Why does he constantly disappoint? I don't know how much it matters that he's over-hyped to us, as fans, but that he's perhaps been over-hyped to himself. Toni Nadal once said that it's better to base your career on hard work than on talent. A simple statement, but it says a lot. Great champions start with talent, but launch from there with also ambition, hard work, commitment and innate competitiveness. A lot of talent might be seductive, if you believe that's all you need. I think that was Nalbandian's shortcoming. And it might be Dimitrov's.
I thought Roger Rasheed was going to kick his butt on fitness and hard work, but nothing came of it. He seems to lack the fire-in-the belly. Maybe he's just comfortable being handsome and making lots of money. When it's time to get your knuckles bloody, he seems to scarper away.
