Andy Murray spearheaded a Great Britain victory over Belgium to clinch their first Davis Cup title in 79 years.
Fred Perry led Team GB to their last title in 1936. Murray defeated David Goffin 6-3 7-5 6-3 to clinch the title in Ghent.
The British team won the tie 3-1 overall, with Murray picking up two singles wins (vs Goffin and Ruben Bemelmans) and a doubles win with his older brother Jamie on Saturday. Britain lost one match with Goffin beating Kyle Edmund on the opening day.
Davis Cup captain Leon Smith stated: “It is amazing, as good a feeling as I could imagine. Andy has shown himself to be an absolute superstar.â€
