This traditional event is held this week along with another 3, a very crowded week, that is why the field in each of them is diluted.

Seeds:
Thiem
Kohlschreiber
Granollers
Lorenzi
Rosol
Lajovic
Cervantes
Struff

After a very long injury lay-off, Jurgen Melzer comes back to defeat top 10 Domi Thiem.
Very nice :clap

I can't help but think Thiem is tired. He's played 62 matches so far this year, not to mention a lot of doubles on top of that. But I guess when you're in your early 20s you have endless energy.

Thiem's scheduling has been flawed. I mean, he's a top 10 player now, he needs to have a top 10 player's schedule.

it's possible but he should adapt his schedule to what his body can do...it's a part of the job not to play too many tourneys if not he'll finish like Manacor's bull whose body is totally demolished (not a good ex to follow if you want a long successful career)

He has had 2 weeks of rest before this loss. I would not attribute entirely the loss on him being tired physically.

The majority of the seeds were wiped out.
SF line-up:
Basilashvili - Lajovic
Gerlad Melzer - Lorenzi.
Except Lorenzi, all the other 3 are first time semifinalists

Lorenzi beat Basilashvili 6-3, 6-4.
The Italian becomes the oldest player on ATP tour to win his first title (34y and 7 months), surpassing Victor Estrella Burgos orevious record (34y and 6 month).

All 34 year old players are winning titles. Let us hope that another 34 year old player wins the OG.:plot
