Bit late with this, but @masterclass has ripped the field a new one already.

Same rules : we all start with 100 virtual dollars that we can bet as we like.

@masterclass already had $90 on Del Potro to beat Thiem at 5.75. So he sits on a pot of $617.50.

Does @masterclass have an unassailable lead? or do we have time to usurp him at the top?

I'll go big to try and pull him back into range. $100 on Simon. Not a bet I would make normally, but...

Thanks for setting this up Baron @britbox !

I applaud your courage if not your conviction. ;)

Gasquet, and Ferrer tempting, Cuevas a little less so, but I'm not sure I'm getting enough return to how I see their chances.
Still, I can afford to return some money.

I'll put $20 on Gasquet, $10 on Ferrer and 5$ on Cuevas.
I'll follow your lead and put $50 on Simon.
They were very close the last time they played in 2013 Madrid if I recall, 26 64 76(6) in a late night thriller that finished about 1:30 am.
Today they play early at 12 pm local time.

Respectfully,
masterclass

Gasquet has a 6-0 H2H over Kei, which surprised me a little.
Kei will have to up his game to beat Gasquet. I think Kei doesn't like Gasquet's looping shots and Richard's backhand negates Kei's.

Kei didn't play well in the 2nd and 3rd set against Fognini.
Fognini was superior, toying with Nishikori at times, but beat himself the last set in his last 2 service games.
An all too frequent story unfortunately for the very talented Italian.

Congratulations Bert! Berdych took that very tight first set 10-8 in the breaker and that was pretty much all he needed.
All of my picks lost so far, even unbeaten Gasquet. Nishikori did well. Only hope left is Cuevas. :)

I'll start with tomorrow, when the odds come out. People are going big! Does that mean BB is already out? And Bert has a nearly insurmountable lead? This one is going to test the nerves, I see.

Well, I'll put $50 on Rafa, $25 on Murray, and....I almost think Kyrgios could pull it off, but it would be betting against my draw challenge. $10 on Kyrgios.

@masterclass blew the gates of the comp with his opening bet of $100 dollars on Del Potro at 5.75 - it came, so he's virtually unstoppable... that's why I bet $100 on Simon to try and catch up. As I suspected and why the odds were so good, Gilles didn't do the business.

Actually I bet $90 on DelPo to beat Thiem. 5.75*90=517.50 + 90 I bet + 10 left over = 617.50.
I gave back $85 yesterday on a bunch of sucker bets just to keep some action going when I should have held tight (this is why casinos don't like hit and run players. They know if you play long enough, you'll give it all back)/

So now I have 617.50 - 85 or $532.50 left in my pot.

I want to get out of Madrid with no less than $500, so I have $32.50 to squander.
Bets later after we get the odds for today. :)

I think there will be some big opportunities to catch me if you are willing to bet against Nadal & Djokovic.and one of the underdogs comes through.

Good luck with your bets!

Too late to make a bet on the Berdych match since it has started.
But I'll go with these bets below to use up my 32.50:

$15 on Kyrgios,
$10 on Raonic, and
$7.50 on Sousa.

Thanks,
masterclass

I'm not sure where I am with dosh. (No offense, BB, but you're not as good at this as Bert is. :D ) But I'll put $50 on Nadal and $50 on Djokovic. I must have at least $100. I think.

It's ok. You're a prize winner for this whole site. But Bert is the King of the betting challenges.
