Federer world rank horror. :s

not only does Federer lse 1'955 rank pts after Wimbledon, also on aug 5th he loses 450 pts from the Olympics then soon after that he defends 1000pts at Cincinnati :s

he might fall below berdych and del potro if he does not look out, Newport on grass wildcard you think ?, or maybe that clay 250 in Switzerland, a bit closer to home ??.

The thing with astrology is that it's great when they're right but "oh well, too bad" when they're wrong. What do you mean "it's all coming out to be true?" She pondered whether the planets' alignments meant Fed's retirement, and there are no indications that he is going to do that soon, are there?

Not there, Geez. That is Rodge's favorite clay event. Wafa might get trashed there by TMF:laydownlaughing

If you ask me, Roger's new favorite clay court event is Madrid. And, yeah...Roger v. Rafa in Hamburg...not a chance. :nono

See what we're suddenly reduced to? Debating Rafa v. Roger at a minor tournament. How quickly things change. ;)

Actually, they haven't changed that quickly.

didn't you hear, Fed's gonna play Newport. i think Fed and Rafa (under the guidance of Nike) already have a pact dividing up all non-prep ATP 250s on clay and grass. also, there'll be new carpet tournaments, in Dubai and Zurich - in Fed's living rooms. literally, right in the living room. no top 150 players allowed. except for Youzhny.

He's currently No. 6, but could become No. 5.

Yes, that would move Federer down to No. 6.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves. While it is theoretically possible for Berdych to become No. 5, it would require his winning the tournament in order to do so. Even just getting to the final wouldn't be enough.

^ not for Wimby alone, but once the olympic points come off, i'm pretty sure it would.

Sure, that's the more likely scenario.

Roger now has 5,785 points, and Berdych has 4,595 (including today's win), so Fed's still 1,190 points ahead.

If Berdych makes the final, and then you take off the Olympics points from Fed, that would be enough to push Roger down to No. 6, without Berdych having to win Wimbledon. (Unless Berdych has a bunch of points to defend from the Olympics. I can't remember.)
