Personally I like Wimbledon the best as I grew up on it back in the UK, but the Australian Open might be the one I look forward to most, largely due to the gap since the last one. It's also the start of the season, most of the players are fit, the atmosphere is good and the players enjoy it. It deserves the Happy Slam title.

Wimbledon.. still got something about it that sets it apart... the green grass, the hushed tones of commentators, the incredible history, the prestige...

French Open cause it's on clay. I also like Wimbledon a lot.

It's probably not in the spirit of the thread to say "all of them, for different reasons." Since Borg was my first favorite, and then I added Vilas, I have always loved the clay, the French Open, and I've always preferred longer rallies to S&V tennis. But it's hard not to love Wimbledon, in the high British summer, and Centre Court is the St. Peter's of tennis. And, while I know people have a lot to complain about re: the US Open, it's my hometown tourney, and the one I get to go to. The down-side of the Aussie Open is that much of it happens in the middle of the night for me. But that's also an up-side, when I have the luxury of watching. It's sort of fun to be an "AO Vampire." And vicariously experiencing hot summer on my TV in the middle of our winter is a pleasure. I'll vote for Roland Garros, so as not to be a total fence-sitter, because of how long I've loved it, all the wins my favorites have had there, and because it's considered the greatest physical challenge, especially for the men.

The only really stupid thing about Wimbledon is the ill-decided tradition of not playing on the first Sunday. It completely sucks for everyone who works during the week and has the weekend off.

AO has the weird thing where the SFs are on different days, and the USO has tried the "Super Saturday" and the Monday final. Realistically, I think only the FO has no complaints about its scheduling.

I like all of them, but if I have to pick one I'd go with AO. It just warms me with the sunshine and summertime streaming from TV when it is usually really cold here. The crowds always look happy and it is the first major since September, so I start to long for some slam action.

What's the USO doing this year? Sticking with the Monday final?

They have ditched the hated Monday men's final, and the Super Saturday. Women's SFs will be on the Thurs., Men's on the Friday, Women's Final on the Sat., and Men's on the Sunday. As God intended for Major tennis to be played. ;) Plus, they'll have the roof, so they should get through that schedule.

Haven't we had this topic already? I like Australian Open because it is somehow brightest to me, also because No1e has most success there and because I live in South Pasifika.

I also like watching all the other slams on bright sunny days, especially Wimbledon and Roland Garros can look impressive.

That's all my tv/internet experience, unfortunately i have never attended any slams in person even though I've been watching them on tv ever since Wimbledon 1981 final..
