Pitsburgh New Years Eve 1977 was IMHO Elvis' best concert.

Mostly this is derived from fans 8mm films. Virtually a pro-shot video. How did they get all the different angles I'll never Know ?

It's often been rumored the NYE Pitsburgh concert has been taped, not by R.C.A but via a sound engineer using a portable soundboard console ( which is the next best thing) but to this day, it's not surfaced.

Another rumour i heard is that relative/ family member or friend to the sound engineer, who's been deceased for many years, is hoarding the soundboard tapes and demanding exorbitant monies to have it mass-produced. SONY (who own RCA Victor and Elvis Masters) has tried to negotiate but the owner(s) won't compromise.

Interesting article here about the Civic Arena.

I saw many concerts in the Civic Arena, but not this one. It was a fun place.
