Well it doesn't seem that anybody else thinks that we need a thread about Eastbourne - let me have a go. Program for Tuesday is as follows - all times are local time:

Centre court 13.00
Alize Cornet - Na Li 26 46
Yuliya Beygetzimer - Laura Robson

Court 1 11.00
1.Tamira Paszek - Caroline Wozniacki 26 22 ret. Good start Caroline :)
4.Agnieszka Radwanska - Jamie Hampton 67 26 Aga a shadow of herself.

Court 2 11.00
Angelique Kerber - Sorana Cirstea 64 64
Monica Niculescu - Petra Kvitova 46 16
Samantha Stosur - Nadia Petrova 62 63

Court 3 11.00
Johanna Konta - Su-Wei Hsieh 46 36

Court 4 11.00
1.Klara Zakopalova - Lucie Safarova 46 67
3.Olga Puchkova - Ekatarina Makarova 36 06

Remember TV from center court and court 1.

Results from day 1

Marion Bartoli (FRA) d Flavia Pennetta (ITA) 63, 62
Elena Vesnina (RUS) d [7] Ana Ivanovic (SRB) 26, 64, 63
Yanina Wickmayer (BEL) d Christina McHale (USA) 63, 64
Heather Watson (GBR) d Varvara Lepchenko (USA) 63, 64
Maria Kirilenko v Bojana Jovanovski 76 61

Biggest surprise is Ana's lost 1st round match. Maybe you could expect a bit more from McHale she is usually good on grass - anyone who knows what's troubling her?

I don't know how much you're following Caroline - you know I do ;) but there has been a lot of writing on twitter and other media about her blackened racket. Many people means that she's on the way back to Babolat - see a photo from the training:

I try with a much smaller picture. Moderators tell us how big they may be - I hope.

PS. You can see Kirilenko - Jovanovski right now - good match! First set 1 hour 12 minutes - match of the day! - well at least 1st set - Jovanovski went out of steam in 2nd set which she lost 61.

Hoergren, your post is getting cut off so I cannot read what you wrote. Is Woz returning to Babolat? I did wonder whether her poor performance recently was tied to Yonex. My daughter tried a bunch of racquets, including Yonex and Babolat. She thought the Yonex provided no power whatsoever. I think Woz should go back to Babolat.

Cut of - don't know exactly what you mean. Can be the browser - works fine in Firefox - any moderators who knows about the problem? I also wonder why a new post is put together with a reply you recently have done - that's the line in the posting - can it be the problem?

10sfan,

Please tell me exactly what is the last thing you see in this post:

I am using Safari on the ipad. Several words on the right side of the screen do not appear, ie, cannot fit on the page.

interesting matchup, Caro against the defending champ. mind you, Paszek is going through a (considerably) worse slump than Woz.

^ well, it was even worse than expected. Paszek retired at 2-2 in the second set, after having lost the set 2-6. couldn't see any of it, though.

A good day for Caro and a bad day for Aga. Caroline played in control and to me there was no doubt that she would win even if she had a few problems in the beginning of 2nd set. Not the best she has played but ok to this match. Aga was a shadow of herself, not that she didn't fight but Hampton is a hardhitter and today Aga's tricks didn't work. Here is the schedule for Wednesday:

CENTRE COURT 11:00 am

2. Y.Wickmayer (BEL) v P.Kvitova (CZE) [4] 36 64 75 well played Yanina
3. L.Robson (GBR) v C.Wozniacki (DEN) [5] 46 46 well done babe!

COURT 1
1.M.Bartoli (FRA) v N.Li (CHN) [2] 00 ret.
4.E.Vesnina (RUS) v H.Watson (GBR) 61 36 62

COURT 2

2. M.Kirilenko (RUS) [6] v E.Baltacha (GBR) 46 64 63
4. A.Kerber (GER) [3] v E.Makarova (RUS) 36 46

COURT 3
1. L.Safarova (CZE) v S.Stosur (AUS) 76 63
2. J.Hampton (USA) v S.Hsieh (TPE) 64 76

Another interesting day -see what it brings :)

Caro to play Robson again, but this time on probably Laura's best surface. We'll see if Caro can play well again like she did at RG.

Hi everyone. I have been so busy at Eastbourne this is the first op to chat with you all. From my perspective there have been some worthwhile games to watch and some so so.
I of course concentrated on the Hampton/Drabowski game, for Tennis Canada and it was a no contest affair with Jamie totally dominating Gaby. A couple of line calls did go against the Canadian but it was a cruise for Jamie.
Was able to witness a super performance by Elena Vesnina at centre court on Monday. She was her vocal and charamastic self. Keeping the crowd amused and appreciative of a fine performance against Ana. With a rain delay I was faced with catching a very late train back to London, when Maria Kirilenko took on Jovanoski. After numerous opportunities to close out the first set Maria tucked it away 7-6 then when in cruise control in set two easilly winning 6-1. With reports to Tennis Canada I had a 19 hour day from start to finish, hitting the sack at 1am.
Today was easier, no Canadians playing so saw a variety of matches, Tamira Paszek continued her terrible form and Caroline coasted to victory without drawing any sweat. Cornet and Na's game was interrupted by a medical emergency in the crowd but that did not deter her from making the vital shots at the right time and went on to win.
Saw, Kvitova, Makarova, Zakapolova play along with some lesser lights, trying to get some pics was difficult in the outer courts as the crowds were 4 deep in many instances.
My attempts to get an interview with Maria Kirilenko is a challenge. I will not go into the reasons why because that is priviledge info. There is a good chance I will get the interview after her match on Wednesday against Baltacha. Excuse any typos because I am pretty bagged right now but as I promised you, I would give you a little insight on the tournament. Lots of good dubs matches as well. Got a great shot of Sania Merza along with some great pics of Li Na and a couple of good ones of MK. Over 250 photos taken so far.
Will be training it back down to Eastbourne on Wednesday and will arrive just when the 11am matches start.

I use Chrome and both images are fully visible. None of the posts were cut at the corners either.
It must be the browser.

I'll try with Windows later.

Interesting that Caro has to play Robson again, this time on grass.

I've been using Chrome for a few weeks now, too, thanks to a suggestion from Britbox. Love it. So much faster than Firefox, which I had been using.

The images display correctly for me, too, but apparently Safari is having trouble if they're too big.

I'm not sure what the limit should be, since I can't see what others are experiencing. All I can tell you is that you can see the size of the one I used, which everyone is now able to see. If you use ones around that size, and not larger, everything should be fine.
