Novak Djokovic dominated proceedings from start to finish in the final of the Paris Masters to secure a historic 6th masters title in one calendar year.
The 6-2, 6-4 drubbing of Andy Murray was achieved in little over 90 minutes.
Djokovic’s signature return game applied pressure to Murray’s service game throughout the first set and he was rewarded with two breaks to secure the opening stanza 6-2.
Murray made a match of it in the second set but his game was littered with unforced errors and he failed to execute on the big points. Djokovic took advantage and ran out a 6-4 winner to secure the match and the championship.
The World Number One became the first man to win 6 Masters titles in one year and has now defeated Murray 10 times in the last 11 meetings.
“Congratulations to Novak for another fantastic week. He fully deserves the number one spot. Hopefully I can get a bit closer next year.†said Murray after the match.
