My head says Novak, my heart says Juan Martin. I'm voting that the big Argentianian gets his revenge in 3.

I picked Novak in 3, but I might be rooting for Delpo. Even though Juan is my second fav., it would mean more for him.

I think Juan would be a lot of peoples second favourite. Actually, I might just pose that question!

But yeah, it would be good for the sport if somebody not called Nadal, Djokovic, Federer or Murray actually won something...

EDIT: Moxie got there before me! :)

Went for Del Potro in 3 but I like both guys and their matches are usually very entertaining so I'll be happy for whoever wins. A lot on the line for both. Novak is desperately trying to hang onto his points to catch Nadal and keep momentum for the rest of the season and Del Potro is not only looking to gain another win over a top player, but after his first ever (hard to believe) Masters 1000 title.

Yeah, their matches are usually quite entertaining with some clean, shot-making heavy tennis. I think Novak in 3.

I think the big guy will take it in 3. When he is in this form it is tough to stop

I think it depends a lot on how novak starts the match. If he starts passive, it could be bad like today for nadal. Nadal tends to get more aggressive as he gains confidence (and he never really got there), but Novak should be able to come out swinging and control the points more so than Nadal early on. But then again, if Delpo plays as good as he did today, he can beat anyone.

Given their comparative pedigrees (today's word), I'm surprised to see most people fancy Juan for this one. More votes from the heart than the head? Because logically, if Nole clicks, he takes this. And he has more previous of clicking at this level than JMDP...

no its from the head..i feel its time for him to win a masters, and he wasted rafa today, no reason why not djoko tomorrow, (obviously novak might win but..)

i always thought del potro would be in the mix for masters / majors again and I feel he will be world no1 rank sometime too.

I never vote from the heart 'cos frankly what's the point of that. My vote of DP to win is from the head. It's meant to be a poll based on the predicted winner not a Facebook game of likes. Going by the comments anyway it seems to be votes based on genuine predictions. The WTA polls I have to say are laughable in people picking people who have no chance but just 'cos they happen to be the person's favourite but show no form to win.

That's exactly what I was thinking as I voted, then I scrolled down and read this. I went with my head, though, and voted Novak in three. He's fit and motivated, and I'm not sure DP will be able to keep up for three sets.

I mean who in their right mind would back Federer to beat Nadal at slam level in 2013 with a bookie? So polls should reflect real predictions.

But the thing is, Novak is in form too. He wasted Rafa last week and he's looked imperious this week, from all accounts. I know, del Potro was destructive and brilliant today, but is this enough to pick him over Novak? I think Nole has the mental edge too, and will get at least a couple of breaks and be able to win in 3 - if today's del Potro returns.

If he doesn't, this will be straights...

Well said, Front. I agree with all of this, including the WTA part, although I fully admit I'm guilty of voting with my heart too many times over the years.
