I thought we could discuss coaches and coaching news at the ATP level here.

Gasquet decided to add Sergi Bruguera to his coaching team. I think it is a good call. SB was one of the guys , if not THE guy, that started the Spanish domination on clay. He was an awesome player and I remember Sampras saying he was a nightmare to play against because he was almost impossible to hit through. I don't know what kind of a coach he will be, and I am not sure if he coached before, but I think he is a very knowledgeable guy. I don't see a downside.

Yeah, was happy to read that as clay is clearly one of Gasquet's best surfaces. Here's hoping he does well with Bruguera and starts winning more. I hope he converts his gameplan so he no longer stands miles behind the baseline. He was very effective at the net the few times I saw him approach it at the WTF and especially impressive in the set he took against Djokovic. More of that would be great to see.

Seeing Gasquet get bossed around the court as he's miles behind the baseline is no fun for viewers and can't be fun for him. He needs to sit down and watch his matches and address that asap.

Does anyone know the juicy story behind why Gasquet's ex-coach dumped him?
I think it is Sebastian Grosjen.

I also think Sergi is a good call. But, Gasquet is at that stage of career where
the coaching changes will not have much effect on him. You cannot teach and
old dog new tricks.

Magnus Norman and Stan Wawrinka have announced extension of their agreement together.
It is expected Magnus will travel more with Wawrinka next year.

With that kind of coaching, it is hard to leave him out of top 10 for 2014. I might have
to redo my picks in the other thread.

Rumor mill has it that Gasquet's ex-coah (who dumped him during WTF) is joining
Fed's team. His name is Riccardo Piatti. Does anyone know anything about this guy?

Wawrinka is not done yet. He will actually climb some more IMO. It is getting hard from here on, but he still has some room to grow mentally. And that is where Norman usually can make a difference.

Sometimes I just wish Rafa wouldn't leave his US Open champions serve at customs on the way out of JFK, ya know... :s :(

He had better have it at OZ(down under at AO) because if not he will spend 5-6 hours of pure Hell facing Djoker. I don't want to ever experience AO 12 again.. I still haven't recovered!

Wow! From No1e hating forum you went to No1e ignoring one. Seems that only the reigning World Champion's new coach is not important unlike Tomic's, Nishikori's, Ferrer's and whoever's

On the contrary, because it is so important, there is a separate thread for that.
See the thread title "Becker to coach Djokovic".

We created an entire thread for that. It's not No1e (see, I even wrote it with the "1") that we ignore, it's paranoid/silly/irritating fans.
