It would be great if - like the Indian Premier league cricket - we know how much the players are valued. I must confess my interest in the whole thing ends there. I very much doubt I'll waste any energy actually watching!

I can only conclude that any top players who take part in this tripe are idiots at heart...

Absolutely! He went on some stoopah junket tour at the end of 2013 with Novak, with the result to both of them that Nole under-performed at Oz in 2014, and Rafa's back went in the final. I think that players who play these after-season events damage their prospects in Oz, and also don't get enough rest time. Roger played one at the end of 2012, and it affected him in Oz in 2013, so he said he wouldn't play exos in late 2013. He must have forgotten that in 2014, because he played this Indian circus and then placed his worst results in Oz in 2015.

I think they're barmy if they don't take the opportunity to rest after a long season... :nono

I'm not sure what to think of it. I do know that I'm not going to take any of these players seriously when they complain about a long season again. I'm going to have to check out the website and find out what the rules are. The World Team Tennis bores me to tears so if it's anything like that then meh.

Just took a look at the website. Looking for the rules and format but all I could find was "fast-paced".

Nadal is already at a disadvantage. :snicker

Rafa's already at an advantage because one of the makey-up rules is, they have to play with the racket in their bad hand... :snicker

I don't doubt it! Just reading the rules on the Wiki page. apparently, there is something called a "shoot-out". What that is, I have no idea. Maybe setting up construction cones on the court and see who can knock down the most in a 3-minute span. :cover

No, that involves literally guns, and violence. It's a berserk circus, totally unnecessary except as a money spinner...

See, if he'd rung me, I'd have done that for him and he can go somewhere and lie down and rest... :popcorn

Especially the ones who complain about official's ATP calendar !!! They are so called "exhausted" to play official tournaments but they still have some energy to play those ridiculous exhs...

This year's player draft took place back in April with very few players staying at their original team. As a result, a two-year player deal has been introduced to prevent a similar merry-go-round effect in 2016. The updated rosters are shown below - here have been a few changes since the draft - although it should be noted that the star names will not play in all the matches:

Indian Aces: Rafael Nadal, Sania Mirza, Rohan Bopanna, Gael Monfils, Fabrice Santoro, Ivan Dodig, Agnieszka Radwanska

UAE Royals: Roger Federer, Ana Ivanovic, Tomas Berdych, Kristina Mladenovic, Marin Cilic, Daniel Nestor, Goran Ivanisevic

Philippine Mavericks: Serena Williams, Milos Raonic, Sabine Lisicki, Richard Gasquet, Mark Philippoussis, Jarmila Gajdosova, Treat Huey

Singapore Slammers: Novak Djokovic, Nick Kyrgios, Karolina Pliskova, Carlos Moya, Belinda Bencic, Marcelo Melo, Dustin Brown

Japan Warriors: Maria Sharapova, Kei Nishikori, Leander Paes, Vasek Pospisil, Marat Safin, Daniela Hantuchova, Kurumi Nara

No Pete Sampras this year. He looked like a fish out of water last year, bored and inanimate...
