His stock appears to be on the rise again. He has a new coach and he is working harder than ever before.

I am expecting big things from him in 2017.

Good to see ya CD. I am not expecting much from Cilic, but who knows? If next year is a worse version of this one, there should a lot of openings for players to exploit.

Look, I would not be so sure. Bjorkman is not known yet to have a good as a coach, but I think Marin has some unexploited potential.
His USO run raised the bar significantly, but that run also triggered a shoulder injury, which took away all the momentum.
In case Bjorkman develops and becomes a good coach, between the two of them I could see some pretty good results coming.
He is lurking there in the 10-14 ranking range, from there to jump into being a contender is not a whole lot, considering the weakening of the old guard tier 1 and 2 as well.
By tier 1 I mean BIg 4 and tier 2 the Ferrer-Tsonga-Berdych trio.
I would not be surprised to see him elevate himself into the top 5-8 range at one point.
Players are peaking late these days, as we have observed that.

As I said in the Cincy thread, Cilic is a bit of a "baby Stan" - when he's on, he's really hard to beat, but the problem is that he isn't on all that much. Maybe he can change that and be a real factor over the next few years as his slightly older peers, Andy and Novak, start slipping and the young punks haven't reached their peak yet. Like del Potro, Cilic turns 28 next month, so is about 1 1/3 years (16 months) younger than Novak and Andy. I'd love to see both Cilic and del Potro act as spoilers over the next couple years.
