Here we have Serena with 54 titles to her name, sitting at the top of the ranking for most of the year, she is poised to finish #1 for the year.

Next in line are Lindsay and Virginia Wade with 55 titles, will she surpass them? Will she get stuck at #55?

Will she get to #67? That's where Billie Jean sits....

I voted NO Calvy, I hope for your sake that she proves me wrong!
:)
OH, BTW, this is a private poll, no one will see who voted for whom and this includes the MODS!

Hey, I have learned never to bet against Serena.

Had there been a poll back at the beginning of April 2012 asking would Serena win 15 events out of 20 events by the USO 2013, I'm sure you'd voted no, and probably me too.

Exactly. She doesn't want to equal them, she wants to surpass them.

As for this poll, yes -- Serena will surpass Billie Jean.

14 more at this age could seem like a lot. Except that she's still playing dominating tennis. With big losses, as well, which is to be expected. If she's gunning for it, and I'm sure she is, I wouldn't count her out of it, at all. She seems to get most things she sets her cap to.

Yes it seems like a lot, But I wouldn't bet against her.

She was 22 behind at the beginning of this year...now 14

It's entirely possible. She could theoretically add 3-4 more this year. That would only leave 10 to get until she retires.

With the bevy of tournaments available to her, and if she remains healthy, there is a very good chance she will pass BJK. Even when she does not play her best , she is still better than virtually anyone else on the WTA tour.

If we're ever talking about actual money, I would NEVER bet against Serena.

Interesting opinion.
2013 seems to be Serena's best year ever, she has 8 titles, she will need another two years at this rate to get to that number, that would be when she is 33.
Highly doubtful! But possible!!

Maybe, but 3 slams trumps 10 titles and potentially 2 slams.

serena should be doing the catching up on Maria's commanding wimbledon finals H2H lead 1>0 first before thinking of BJK

She can, but I think after this year she may want to reevaluate her schedule and drop a couple tournaments next year. She is looking a bit weary this second half of the season. I think Serena will take her career and her Wimbledon record over Maria's career and Wimbledon record any day sherona. I think Serena is more focused on her slam numbers than title count, but she will take both as she gets those numbers.
