Teliana Pereira defeats Annika Beck for her second career title at her hometown tournament! Pereira had lost to Beck in the first round at Bad Gastein last week when she had to retire in the first set so this was a nice comeback for her. She will move up to about No. 48 in next week's rankings.

(4) T Pereira (BRA) bt (3) A Beck (GER) 6-4, 4-6, 6-1

I believe this is the inaugural edition of this tourney. Can someone confirm that.
If so, that is extremely great for Brazil to have a home girl win it.

According to Wiki, this is the third year, and the first year on clay. The first two years it was a hard court event.

:laydownlaughing..yes she is scared of winning titles.I think she is more interested in just making money and shopping, she has no hunger for titles.
I dont understand why she was at the ESPYs,she was not nominated for anything nor is she a top tenner. She loves being a celebrity...:snicker

I am an American but I have never found myself rooting for her to win a match which is sad. I don't think she plays good percentage(I am not gonna use the other term) tennis

Why are we bitching about Sloane here (I agree with the bitching part though)? I believe she was not even playing in this tourney.
