I think the lucky players are the ones who lost yesterday. Group B could be potentially explosive, but Rafa couldn't have asked for a better group, in fairness...

I was hoping Federer and Nadal were in the same group. Unlucky.

;) I think you're right, Murat. And B does seem rougher.

That is really a tough group for Federer. I see only two possible future in Group B.

1. Djokovic gets 3 wins, Gasquet gets 3 losses. Whoever wins the match between
Fed and DelPo gets the second semi slot.

2. Gasquet gets 3 losses. All the other three end up with two wins. Now, the
efficiency (percentage of sets won, percentage of games won) will come
into picture and Fed will lose out on that.

Winner of Group A is no brainer. I expect Berdych to make the second SF slot.

I expect both Berdych and Nadal to lose in SF.

The final will be a rematch of the two players who made SF from Group B.
This time the result will be the opposite of previous result.

The key is, Nadal will be physically fresher than Del Potro, Djokovic and Federer (now and also probably after the group matches too). That counts for a lot, in addition to Djokovic having an eye on the Davis Cup Final.

NONSENSE! He'd have swapped Wawrinka with Gasquet :laydownlaughing

Make sure you use Windex. Windex cures everything.

Crystal balls, voodoo dolls, tea leaves! I've seen just about everything on this board. What's next tarot cards? :laydownlaughing

Possibly the worst possible outcome for Nole, but a great challenge nonetheless.

Looking forward to this event.

Makes the ye no 1 even more likely for Nadal. If he wins today, he only needs to beat one of these guys....

DP has a better hope vs Nole than Roger does at this point, whereas Roger could beat DP and they all end up 2-1. Still, Nole is a heavy favorite to go 3-0 and DP and Roger will fight it out for 2nd spot

The Draw Gods weren't kind, but that's a great attitude, Denisovich.

If you think about it, it might be better for a player to get a more balanced draw (to be clear, neither of those groups are is balanced, for very different reasons), as it would give him the opportunity for an easier semi. For instance, yeah, Nadal is an overwhelming favorite to top his group, but he's almost assuredly going to get a very difficult semi as a result of how stacked the other group is.

If Rafa gets out of his group, he might face a bloodied corpse in the semi. Group B looks like it could be a bloodbath...

The others in group b will be killing themselves in every match though so Nadal is definitely more likely to be fresh which undoubtedly will help in the semi.

Snap. Yup. Just what I was thinking.
