I do understand that "Bad" means "bath" in German, and it is a town with a mineral springs spa, but I can't help but just imagining, "I'm sorry, sir, but that is a terrible hat." So, Azarenka and Kvitova both going to play the week before Wimbledon. I guess that IS the new normal this year.

I realized why someone took initiative and started this thread. Clara Tauson is playing in it. :thumbs-up:

That someone is me Hoergren from Denmark - been with you from the start of this tennissite - you're completely right. I guess you have your favorites too. I'm just trying to give a little to this forum - so bare with me :)

Bad Homburg should've started last year as a new German grass tournament with the intention to be a big tournament from this year. Kerber is fully behind the idea and is a sort of ambassador for the tournament. You saw they had Halep in the tournament too but unfortunately she is not well enough. And yes I follow Clara Tauson who is one of the shooting stars on the tennis courts with a possibility to be as big a star as Wozniacki although they're not playing the same sort of tennis - the queen of tweeners by the way.

Well Clara didn't survive her first tour level match on grass, but Blinkova - her 25th on grass - had to use 3 set to win 76 46 62. Well Clara there is hope Petra Kvitová lost her first four grass matches as a pro - next is Wimbledon

I was not criticizing you. I was just spilling the beans out. ;)

It's a long day in Bad Homburg with lot of rain. Games played again but last match will finish late tonight local time - be patient with the results and order of play.

One of the last matches today a super talented player against a German veteran. One interesting thing about Bad Homburg courts are that it's Wimbledon grass.

In a highly dramatic match Victoria Azarenka survived a dare from Cornet - 3h2m and each player won 114 point - medical timeout for Vika and as she said after the match in doubt if she could complete the match -well she did.
