Where Simona plays
4 matches, each one is very hard to predict!
I predicted all 4 Sunday matches correctly(including Serena!), but Monday games are almost lucky guesses.

Masha - Domi:
If Maria gets into a bad day she will lose! I still predict her to win because of her experience.

Sloane - Vika:
I don't know why but Vika looks vulnerable to me. She will win after a hard match.

Aga - Mugu:
Mugu has the weapons but Aga will be on top.

MY SIMONA - JJ:
The dogfight of the day. I am too subjective but I am still trying to feel the match..
Anything can happen including two easy sets for any side, but I feel 3 hard sets coming, won by Simo 9-7 in the 3rd set! and at least one broken racket by JJ ;)

Its a much tougher day to predict than Sunday matches, especially now that Serena is out.
Everyone believes she can be the next champion! Its great for the event :)
I predict that I will predict zero matches correctly out of the four, lol

4 more matches and then we are down to 8 players and 4 matches.

here are today's singles matches:

Jelena Jankovic (SRB) [8] vs. Simona Halep (ROU) [11]
Dominika Cibulkova (SVK) [20] vs. Maria Sharapova (RUS) [3]
Agnieszka Radwanska (POL) [5] vs. Garbine Muguruza (ESP)
Sloane Stephens (USA) [13] vs. Victoria Azarenka (BLR) [2]

And my calls:
JJ over Simona in a nail biter
Masha in 2 normal sets
Mugu will get rid of Aggie
Vika will reign ebony smooth.

I hate the scheduling here. Why do they put screampova first everytime. She
got the first match in Rod Laver Arena each of the last three occasions.

I agree that she should be placed in RLA. But, why in the same spot everytime?

My guess = marketing issues, i.e., money. Putting her on then equates to a predictable, desirable broadcast time in the US.

To get her matches out of the way as soon as possible more than likely! Sharapova is one of those players who's very inconsistant, has a lot of double faults and UFE's, and allows absolute "nobodies" to take her to the limit; 3 sets and 3 hours! She's one of the main reasons men don't have to play second in USO night matches! A few years ago, they could be waiting until well after 10 pm to get on court because of her intermnably long matches in early rounds! Just a thought!

I don't know. By the same Logic, SW should get the first match on alternate days.
After all SW is American and MS is "Russian". But, she got only two first matches.

My predictions are Halep, DC, Aga, Vika.

Still disappointed Serena is out. Hoping for a Li vs Vika final

This makes no sense. Look at her results from as recent as last year: Sharapova has also dominated to the point of losing a small handful of games per match, especially in the opening rounds. There's no way knowing how long any match is going to last.

First, show us the source for your information that Sharapova was one of the main reasons there has been a scheduling change at the USO.

Second, men do still play second in the night matches. The change was that it used to be it was always the men on last, but now it's only sometimes men, and sometimes women. "Don't have to play second in USO night matches" is incorrect.

Here we go again: someone disagrees with you, and you respond with an over-the-top, emotional post which doesn't even attempt to redress the actual topic. And as one of the founders of the site, I will certainly not buzz off.

I wonder if Maria's thinking about what happened to Serena yesterday. Confidence is a hell of a thing when you get it and for that fact when you lose it.
