At the beginning of the year, I was not so up beat about Roger's chances at this year's AO. In fact, I did not even pick him to make SF.
Suddenly, I am getting more optimistic due to following.
1. The courts seem to play faster and so it is not like Novak is a shoe in. Roger will still have
a puncher's chance. The lessons learned from going out in W & USO finals will help him
when he plays Novak in SF.
2. Also, the bounce seems rather low this year. Of course, this plays a major role when playing against Rafa, who is gone. But, the interesting point is that this low bounce adds a positive effect
to Roger's slices. Other players are finding it more difficult to handle.
3. Nick, who has never lost
snicker) to Roger is gone.
4. Roger did not do the stupid thing of entering Mixed doubles with Hingis.
