Ok, this is a tricky year, but don't be daunted by uncertainties. It's fun, and working through the draw gives you a better sense of what is coming. Here is how you play:

If you're new, and have any questions, PM me. Then we can use this thread to poke and pester each other, as the play goes along.

Do play!

Trying to do a quick first pass before bed, waiting to see if those judges come back. Can Murray catch a break in first rounds at Majors? Basilashvili it not a great pull. Then I get to Fritz v. Tiafoe. My heart goes with Frances, but I'm going Fritz. Well, I'll make a bunch of picks, then revisit tomorrow. But Medvedev seems to have a good path, as Rublev has never done well against him.

Mine is done. I hope we see Zverev Medvedev final. It is turning to be a nice rivalry. They played 12 times so far, 6:6 h2h, but never in a slam.

Top quarter is now open and anyone of Monfils, Alcaraz, Berettinni, PCB could reach SF.

I have to redo mine, and I think it would be better over coffee in the morning. Yes, a world of opportunity in the top quarter. PCB seemed to be trending, until a recent loss, and Monfils just won a tournament in Adelaide, though he has an injury scare. I'm always with @kskate2 on pulling for Berrettini. World of opportunity there, though, and I'd be happy for any of those.

Just did mine. We’ll see. It’s always tricky in a GS to predict the upsets.

I haven't thought about the Dark Horses yet, but a lot of people on TC and ESPN are touting Alcaraz for the future. Probably not yet, though. I always forget what we decide determines a Dark Horse. Monfils and PCB probably too highly ranked? I can see it as a year for Dark Horses and spoilers to feature, but not to win the tournment.

And here we go!

I have Alcaraz to reach semis. I had Monfils, PCB and Berettinni and at the end decided for the young spaniard. Crucial match is Alcaraz - Berettinni, whoever wins that one, probably goes far. That is just my feeling.

This is a quarter that we can lay a beer on, as I think I went differently. (Haven't checked your picks yet, but you did just say.) I won't be sad if Alcaraz comes through. I fact, I'll be thrilled. Just wasn't ready to bet on him yet. So I've got my eye on you for this quarter. :good:

Sooo … I checked the rankings, and I’m tied in 15th place.

This is not meant to be a brag, but to give you a laugh. I looked at the draw challenge, just because I'm still half-asleep and trying to distract myself while the caffeine kicks in. To my surprise, I am on top, and I thought, what did I do? Come to find out, I had picked Shapovalov to win that match, and then completely forgotten. I think I just changed it at the last minute out of spitefulness and shut the draw and forgot about it. :lulz1: I guess no one else picked him.
