"bet at home cup", as it's known now. how great to have a Tennis tournament even named after an online sports betting place. whose idea was that? and is Dani Koellerer already the official spokesperson?
anyway, it's still some time to go until this minor clay tournament comes around, but i thought this might be interesting:
want to win a chance to play in an ATP main draw? (german only)
crazy, right? Philipp Kohlschreiber will team up with the winner of this lottery/competition and compete in the doubles draw. to register, you have to be over 18, and be part of a tennis club. you give info as to which league you're playing in; optionally, you can add your ITN-strength. they don't actually specify how the players get chosen - just that for each sponsor, it's one player; on saturday before the final, they'll face off in a tie-break shoot-out mini-tournament. and the winner goes on to play with Kohli.
now, i reckon the selection process does make it likely that the winner actually can play some tennis. still, it's an incredibly fast way to get some real ATP (doubles) ranking points! also, i wonder, if you actually win a round or so, do you split the prize money 50:50 with Kohlschreiber?
