It looks like ITF goes after recreational drug users more seriously than possible
real violations (such as letting go Cilic and Troiki with minor punishments).

Read the article below for details of a 2 year ban on Spanish WTA player Nuria Vives
for using Meth (few years ago, Martina got punishment of 2 year for cocaine use
which forced her into retirement).

Ridiculous the suspensions they, the ITF, are giving considering the drug.

Vives and Hingis both get 2 year suspension for recreational drugs, where there is no benefit for an athletes performance, but Cilic and Odesnik get a few months on the couch.

Also, I notice the severity of the fine are much steeper depending on gender.

Remember, both Gasquet and Hingis had positives for cocaine, Hingis got two suspension, Gasquet got a walk. Agassi tested positive for Meth, but, his positive got brushed under the rug. We wouldn't even known about Cilic's test and suspension if it weren't loose lips in his camp.

And I think I remember in Martina's case the amount was

so small that it was possible She got it accidentally. Hingis

is smart and should know better than to do coke when

She is subject to random testing.

And I agree that someone using for enhancement to their

game is cheating and should have stiffer penalties than for

recreational use.

Agreed, certainly looks to be a double standard.
