I'm creating a thread for fans of Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala, who defeated 2 Top 5 players, in 2025 Australian Open Champion Madison Keys and 5-time slam champion Iga Swiatek, en route to a semifinal appearance in the 2025 Miami Open. As a result of her success in this tournament, she will be ranked #75 in the world on Monday, a career high and the first time a tennis player in the Philippines is ranked in the Top 100.

Good luck with that, there are holes in her game that need attention like her 2nd serve is a liability, lets see when she plays the tour full time how she fares, also she needs to watch her running, she needed MTO for her thigh and ankle, she might get away with that in a few matches, though being on the tour full time it can go against her. Eala reminds me of Leylah Fernandez in a lot of ways and her game style
You have a habit on calling out players to be 'future stars' and where are they now? I prefer to sit back and wait to see how they cope being on the tour full time, I think Mirra Andreeva has much more upside in her game than Eala, at 17 years old, winning back to back WTA1000? and I am sitting back and waiting to see how she copes being on the tour full time
BTW I was right when I said to you that when Eala played Jess in the SF, in Miami Jess would be hard to beat?
