See Agassi's interview on Huffington Post.

I would suggest watching the three minute video (from the interview) at the top of the article. Agassi has a pretty level-headed take on the subject.

It would be good to see Sampras and Agassi play each other today in a high-stakes match (not typical exhibition). Or maybe they would take a 'typical exhibition' seriously anyway.

Sure why not see if they could both make a comeback to top 20.

Did he say he's considering a comeback, Front242? I only watched the first clip. That would be very interesting, but I don't think they'd get to the top 20. They might be able to beat decent players in a best of three, but to get to the top 20 you have to play a bunch of tournaments and it is hard imagining men in their 40s being able to do that. At the least, it might take them six months or a year just to get into the rhythm of things.

That said, Ken Rosewall was still on tour at 43, as was Pancho Gonzales. The game may be more physical now, but it isn't like the late 70s (Rosewall) wasn't physical. Rosewall, for instance, beat Vitas Gerulaitis, who was probably the fifth or sixth best player of the late 70s, when he was almost 43 years old in 1977. That would be like Agassi or Sampras beating Tsonga or Berdych right now.

As for Andre's views, I tend to agree with him. Nadal has surpassed Borg and, I think, Sampras. Whether or not Rafa is greater than Roger will (and has been) the topic of many debates in years to come. But I think Andre made a good point - that Roger has a level of dominance over a few years that Rafa never had (or will have, presumably), but Rafa has the head-to-head.

Playing one match against each other wouldn't give us any indication of how they could handle the tour grind (and they certainly couldn't, in my opinion). Agassi had nothing left physically when he retired, living off cortisone shots. Sampras had a definite window to make a successful comeback, and his injuries were more the niggling type (which a couple of years of rest would have helped), but that comeback ship sailed several years ago. But it would be entertaining to see 2 of the most talented players ever fighting for pride as only they know how.

Nadal's biggest records, speak volumes of his domination.
Nadal is the only man in world history to have won slams on clay, grass and hardcourt in a calendar year.
Nadal is the only man in world history to have won slams for 9 years in a row (and counting).
Nadal is the only outright leader of a slam event - Roland Garros 8 (2 ahead of Borg, and counting).
Nadal is the only man in world history to have won 26 masters shields (and counting, at a furious pace, 5 so far in 2013).

And Nadal is only 27, and is now having his 2nd best year ever, and his best hardcourt year. So much for early retirement :lolz:

And another Australian Open title would mean Nadal has the Double Career Grand Slam. The hits just keep on coming :clap

The fact that 2 of the slam events each year are played on hardcourt (Nadal's weakest surface, until recently), always worked against Nadal. Now, in his hardcourt prime, Nadal is about to cash-in.

Also keep an eye on year-ending #1s. Federer finished year-ending #1 FIVE times (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009). Nadal is about to achieve it for a THIRD time (2008, 2010, 2013). Looking at the major points Nadal can gain at the Australian Open and Wimbledon 2014 (and the hefty points Djokovic must defend at all of the slams in 2014) there is a great chance of Nadal making it FOUR year-ending #1s at least.

Andre was my favorite as a kid, and he still continues to be interesting. I think he makes some good points. I think Rafa is in the conversation with Fed, but he has to win some more to be really there. Then again GOAT discussions are by definition arbitrary...

That was sarcasm.

How can a match be high stakes with two retired guys?

Agassi has moved on from competitive tennis. He could play some of the senior events if he still had a flame burning and I'm sure he's always getting asked. It's pretty clear from interviews that he's enjoying the next phase of his life and the desire isn't there.

He's still got that rivalry with Pete in the blood!

If you ever saw that "Hit for Haiti" exho, you would definitely know there's no love lost between them, but Agassi did admit that Sampras kicked his ass.

That exho was hilarious and even left Roger and Rafa laughing, albeit uncomfortably

Exactly. If Pete won 28 majors - 4 of each! - Agassi would be first to tell us how "different class" Roger is to him. Makes a sensible point about Nadal, though...

Agreed that Andre isn't exactly impartial when it comes to Pete. However, seeing as Pete didn't win 28 majors, and "only" 14, compared to Roger's 17, on all surfaces, Andre's point about Roger being "a different class" holds a little more merit.
