So,
Pliskova is out to fry bigger fish and Konta is the top seed.
After the clay season, I lost some of my Konta'ness.
But this is in her back yard and she is the top seed.
I'll give her 30% to win this.

I think Konta will be glad to be off clay, she's been pretty dismal on it.

There goes the second seed, out in the first round.
As did #3 seed and #6 seed, leaving #5 seed Safarova in the bottom of draw as the lone seed. How long with that last?
Talking about the bottom of the draw, 2 seeded Americans lost today, 2 unseeded Americans advanced, go figure.

More casualties were #8 seeded Naomi Osaka losing to qualifier Kristie Ahn 1 and 1
The top of the draw held up a little better.

No big shocks today @kiu, probably because of the seed bleeding already.

Ash Barty having a nice run of form.

I didn't think the American qualifier would win again but Kristie Ahn advanced via pretty comfortable 2 setter.
Surprising!

Also,
Konta and Wickmayer won their doubles match today, tomorrow, they'll play singles, against each other.
Interesting!

How about Wawa's girltoy making it out of R2?

Should we be expecting the grass specialist (Pironkova) to make it to the final?

Konta had her chances but instead argued with the chair umpire, yelled at her at the end too.

2 grueling 3 setters in 2 days and Donna Vekic comes away with the trophy, beating #5 and top seed along the way.

Greatly done by young Donna.
