Will be played on hard courts for the first time this year. This seems a smart move. Makes it a good tune-up for IW. Conveniently located.

Seeds are:

David Ferrer
Andy Murray
John Isner
Grigor Dimitrov
Kevin Anderson
Gilles Simon
Ernests Gulbis
Vasek Pospisil

See the draw here.

Did anyone notice that there is no thread for the World's Best Indoor Clay Tournament
at Sao Paulo, Brazil? I am not joking, it is really true (as there is only one indoor clay
tournament in the world).

Anyway, Almagro will be upset. He is planning on winning it as he is the premier
dirt devil there. Open a thread for it or else earn his wrath.

Winning here Andy can move right back up the rankings,Ferrer I think has to make the final or lose points.

Good list of players. It'll be interesting to see how Gulbis performs - he's been consistently good for over a month now (which is more than usual for him) and this is another good opportunity to earn some ranking points. Murray back and form will obviously be one of the big talking points, and here's hoping Dimitrov continues his relatively good start to the season. I'm still very impressed by match against Nadal at the AO.

I hope we don't see another Murray vs. Ferrer final. Anyone remember Miami last year?

Yeah, he had a championship point. The match was just... so dull. Endless pushing. Of course the heat played a huge factor, but it was just a bore to get through.

There is more to the story. On Ferrer's match point, Ferrer thought one of Andys
shot was landing long. However, there is no call from linesmen. But, Ferrer stopped
play and contested the (lack of) call. However, hawk-eye showed that the ball
landed in. That is how he lost his match point. :nono

I think Andy might lose in the SF to the winner/survivor of Gulbis/Grigor match.
Isner might make it to F from other end as Mexico is almost a home tournament for him
and he tends to well in home tournaments.

Oh, man I could not disagree more. That was a great match. Pushing? I don't think so.

That was a disastrous decision to stop playing and challenge that ball. Ugghhh.

Something the big 4 would NEVER do. I was so upset he did that.

The final part of the puzzle is it was a BRUTAL rally that he was ahead in for much of the time.

Hard Court? I knew there was a reason Querry, Isner, and Murray decided to play.

And why did you not open that thread yourself, now that you wanted to talk about it? You stuck your comment under the Acapulco thread because...???

If I had opened the thread and posted this message there, lot of people would not
have come to know that Sao Paulo is the World's Best Indoor Clay Tournament (as
many people would not be reading that thread). ;)

Karlovic beat Isner in two TB sets. THAT must have been a thriller. :nono

Murray gets Andujar later tonight. Could be interesting.
