2022 Australian Open Men’s Quarterfinal: Matteo Berrettini vs. Gael Monfils

Berrettini leads the H2H 2-0 over Monfils including their only Slam meeting at the 2019 US Open QF in which Berrettini prevailed in 5 sets. Monfils is the only male player in the draw not to lose a single set yet and it looks like he is enjoying playing tennis again this year.

On the other hand, Berrettini played his best match of the tournament against PCB last round.

Gael made a bit of an inroad into Matteo's service game at the end of the 1st set with 2 bhand down the lines winners,apart from that,he has not been able to make inroads into Matteo's serve

yes , it is exhausting. I reckon the australian open mens' competition should become Best of three sets, excepting the final.
Players of today , basically play the same brand of baseline tennis, that's why, more often than not, we're seeing these GS matches go the distance.

I really didn't see any of it. When I woke from my slumber it was 4-1 in the decider.
