No one bothered to open the tread for this match. I guess all eyes are on Fedal already.

Khachanov leads in h2h 1:0 with that easy win in Bercy last year.

All points in Thiem victory here, but I hope KK has something to say too. Hope he can trouble the Dominic and put up a good fight. I definitely see him doing better than the clown, take a set?

Very good match in the making, Kachanov is a very good clay courter due to his huge amount of top spin. He can definitely take a set, but I don't think he can do much more than that. He took too long to "wake up" this season. Even as a moderate Thiem fan, I do not think he is at his best either, but still above what KK has to show for now.

Winner of two of the last three Masters on hard courts, by the way. As in the JMdP x KK contest, they will crush the poor balls...

No voting? Going with Thiem in 4 (could be 3).

I'll pick Thiem this year, but KK is a keeper - the guy is going places IMO. I've said it before, but I think the biggest NextGen Stars will ultimately be KK, Zverev and Stefanos.

Thanks for creating the thread. I added a poll.
I see the poll now. I haven't seen this option in tapatalk which I mostly use, only in web view.

Voted Thiem in 5.

I pick Thiem in 4.

I distinctly remember the Khachanov-Rafa match at USO (I think that was the first time, I saw a full match of KK live). He played nicely and had the bull in all sorts of trouble. The main problem with KK is that he is kind of a ball basher. Also (based on that match), for every winner, he was producing like 2 UFEs (going for big kill though in those UFEs also). Ball bashing works even less on clay. But, I had to give KK a set, considering that Thiem donated a set to all kinds of players right in this RG.

You need to watch him more. Besides the powerful strokes which he relies on most of the time, he got some nice touch as well. I saw him using the drop shot well against JMDP.

Hopefully he can show this again, Thiem is much quicker than Juan. Would be nice if he send the German bastard home.

Early break for Thiem, forehand unforced from KK trying to go DTL after he ran around his bh. Saved two BPs, but lost the third.

UFE's and FE's starting to pile for KK. Thiem breaks again after KK had 40-0. 5-2.
