Konta has had a really good tournament, surpassing expectations, but I like Sloane in Majors and will take her in two competitive sets.

I misclicked and voted for Konta in 3. But, I meant to vote for Sloane in 3.

Sloane is good on clay (on top of being good in slams). Clay is not Konta's Forte. Nobody even expected her to come this far at his year's RG.

I adjusted it so that users can change their vote.

Konta up 4-1 in the first, but I don’t know what’s happening since Tennis Channel is showing Roger/Stan.

So I knew Sloane could play bad and Konta could do this. But..... So I didn't see Konta in Rome. So I didn't see how she got to the final. I saw a little. But I didn't really see that what she's doing right now was possible.

I mean. If Konta is gonna play this well and hit every line and never miss and serve well, I mean, I always hate to see Sloane lose. But I don't really think you can be upset about that. I mean. If you can connect on everything. Then you deserve to win. I mean. Serena would be struggling against Konta in this form. Halep. Everyone.

The commentators are like, "The serve it out question has been asked." And they're right. That serving it out could suddenly cause some tightness we haven't seen. But, the last service game, that she won to love, he was like, "She's won 16 in a row on serve." I mean. She's devastatingly good right now. Getting her first serve in and playing unpredictable shots AND making them on the line.

I had no idea that Konta can play this well on clay. I am very impressed.

Starts the game with and ace. Followed by a serve Sloane can't get back into play. Followed by just her second double fault of the match. A bit of hope. Followed by another great first serve that Sloane can't return. Misses the first serve. Sloane's second shot slides out. But it didn't look out at first.

Konta just awesome. Chris Evert, I think that's her voice, talking about Konta just being completely emotionless. An ice queen today. Chrissy said she's finally smiling. She's been so focused. And, I think she has to be that focused to play anywhere near this good or her best, which certainly this was. I mean. She has struggled with nerves. And maybe she has to put it all out of her mind to not struggle with them.

Who am I kidding. I have no idea what she did or how she did it. But Konta was amazing. I knew Sloane was vulnerable all week. Has NOT had a good season. And ... has not beaten Konta in 2 matches this year. Maybe that was part of it. Felt very confident against Sloane. Sloane's game, as in, the way she plays, is attackable. It's not easy. She's plays well enough usually that you have to not miss most of the time. And I only caught the last 4 games. Hit snooze and rolled over. But I saw Konta miss once. Maybe twice. I mean. How do you beat that?

Barty, at the very least, will pass Sloane in the rankings. I think she should fall below Svitolina. And Keys could pass her if she can beat Halep and make the final. Though I'm not sure if she has to win it or not. But she's mostly gonna get away with losing all those points. Can add at Wimbledon, if she wins her first match there since 2016. But most of the people who can pass her had already passed her this year. Bertens, Pliskova. Since she didn't defend Miami.

Should have posted this 10 minutes ago if I wanted the game description to matter. But, looking back on it now, it's just a showcase of how good Konta served all day it looks like. Sloane unable to get into her service games at all. And since she is almost always broken in a match, if she can't break back, she's done.

Good, amazing day for Konta. Great play from her. If she can keep this up..... even Halep better watch out. Keys. Martic or Vondrousova. I mean. I'm serious. I don't know how you beat what I just saw from Konta. Again. Maybe it was just because Konta could attack Sloane's game. Maybe she starts being an inch long and wide when today she landed on the line every time. But if not. Everyone is in trouble.

She didn't even know she could play this good until now. Before this season she never won consecutive matches on clay.

I just got home from work and I have recorded this match....seems like Konta has Sloane's number, she did defeat her in Rome....yes she has been the surprise packet on clay so far....she might just be the 'dark horse' that wins the trophy.
Hmm by the way she was born in Aussie and moved to England....see another player that got away from us:)
