These two haven't played since 2014 Montreal R16. A match Venus won in 3 sets. Angie won their only grass meeting at the 2012 Olympic games. They have split 2 meetings in the slams.

Does Venus march on to a date with the final? Or does Angie reach her 2nd slam final of the season?

I went w/ Venus in 3. Grass is not Kerbie's specialty. Venus will be all over her weak 2nd serve. If she can go 3 sets w/ a 19-year old and a 20-year old and come out on top, fitness shouldn't be a problem against a 28-year old when she's had a day of rest and no doubs match today.

All the more fuel for Venus. Who knows better how to defeat Angie than someone (Serena) who just lost to her when she was playing at her highest level.

For the story alone I will be rooting for Venus. For years I have been wondering we she doesn't just pack it in, but a final here would make the years of relative wilderness all the worthwhile

I think Kerber better be prepared. I think Venus will throw everything at her since she is at this stage and it doesn't get any easier to get to this stage.

Chris McHendry of ESPN did an interview w/ Angie yesterday where she said she was ready to play Venus and that beating Serena earlier this year gives her all the confidence she needs going into this match.

Yeah, but Kerber played like crap for most of the year after beating Serena, so what a load of crap about confidence.
