Not sure if it would be classed as an upset, but expecting Del Potro to take care of Thiem, maybe in 4 but if in 3 it would not surprise me..

Thiem retires in set 2 with injury. It is an upset, because Thiem is a top 6 player in the 2016 race, and not matter how good JMDP is, I do not think he is yet a top 8 player.
JMDP wil have to play and stay the course at least 6 months, then we shall see where does he land.

By virtue of reaching QF at USO, JMDP has moved up from #142 to #63 already and he is still alive in the draw. :clap Needless to say, his current ranking is good enough to get him direct entry in all future slams.

However, it is still not quite good enough for direct entry into Masters events, but I am sure he will get there by the end of year, if not before. I heard that he is already given wild card at Tokyo 500 and Shanghai 1000 in the Asian Swing that follows USO.

To get direct entry into Masters, he needs to improve by 20 more spots in the ranking charts.

Lopez brothers made it to QF. They will face Bryan Brothers there. Would be a good match.

What a pathetic match and embarrassment to score so few games at this stage of a tournament.

Dimi is not Edmund, but score wise it was more lopsided. Very impressive by Andy. He is playing at peak of his career. ESPN commentator (maybe Pat McRoe)said he belongs to the true BIG4.

Great match from Andy Murray tonight! I know Dimitrov made a lot of unforced errors but part of that was because of Murray level of play tonight.

Now, we will see if Murray can keep this type of form and conserve some energy until the finals because his next two matches could potentially physically drain him. It will be important for Murray to finish Nishikori as soon as possible so he would not be tired by Friday and Sunday.
