Showman Monfils is not even being considered worthy of being placed in LA. :nono
They have instead placed BB in there. Morevoer, Monfils is playing against Baggy who is not a bad draw for the crowd.

This is the women's thread. You might want to mention posts about Monfils in the men's thread, no?

Caro was in Shambles coming into the USO. I did not even expect her to reach this far. Keys had comeback wins on more than one occasion in this tourney. That will give her confidence that she can pull through even if down temporarily. I go with Keys on this one. But, Keys is not one of my favorite players though.

Vinci has won. I have not checked her stats over the years. But, I think since she defeated Serena in last year's USO her consistency on a week to week basis has increased considerably. She almost never loses to someone she is not supposed to. :clap

Keys still have a tendency to play down to the level of her competition. the Ex Pova coach has not gotten Madison to buy into being a smart Killer like Pova is. Pova would not loose a set to Wozy.. She would be driving the bus over Wozy , back it up and do it again. IMO

Madison is just horrible today.. I don't know why she is playing so flat today. There is no reason she should not be able to break Wozy serve to get this match tied at 5-5.

Incorrect. Woz ousted Maria twice at the USO. Once in straights, the other in 3 sets.

this is Carolina s backyard...she loves the Open a lot..took out HER in a comprehensive way.Wozniacki knows how to school ballbashers at the Open, took out pova two years ago a Hogstedt pupil, took out buckteeth another pupil...
at the end of the day it will be Venus and Serena saving the day...

An absolute horrendous performance by keys, she blew a big opportunity to make a final.

You don't have to runaway, but you need to know Keys is no Williams sister. Everyone is so ready to crown her the next big thing, but she hasn't really done anything when it's counted. She may never develop the killer mentality needed to be at the top of the game. It's a wait and see right now.

Keys doesnt have mental strength like the sisters....imagine its the 30somethings that are holding the fort...shame on you Keys,Coco,McHale,Riske and the rest of them.

Taylor Townsend and Asia Muhammad have made it to the quarterfinals in Women Doubles. Hopefully they can keep it up.
