Vika hurt her left foot playing Cornet. Let's see whether she recovers for the next round. Is she the most injury-prone on the WTA?

Great performance by Petra. Will she survive Daria?

More carnage on the women's side w/ Ana and Mugu going down in 3 sets to much lower ranked players.

Six of 16 seeds are alive so far. The second round is not yet completed and four of the live seeds have not yet played their second round matches. Theoretically, there is the possibility of all those four losing in second round.

The two big seeds alive, Vika and Petra, meet in QF (assuming they make it there) making murphy's law come alive.

I didn't see Cibulkova's match, but I assume she got a bit of help from Garcia who is not known for mental toughness. Happy Domi moves on.

I hope Safarova recovers in time to excel in Rome and Paris.

So, only Halep and CSN are the seeded players who are still alive (and CSN has not yet played her match today).

I think Halep wins it. There's only 2 people who could really trouble her (CSN & Keys) and I think she'll get by them.

Hard to believe Vika's reason for withdrawing. I wonder if players lie once in a while by not citing the true injury although I can't imagine the advantage of doing so.

Petra falling to Daria is not a surprise. I expected it.

Halep is playing well. She will probably win the title.
