Serena leads the series 1-0

Their only meeting came in the 2nd round of last year's US Open in straight sets. Can Kiki stun Serena w/ an upset? Or will Serena march on to face history?

Who ya got?

While I have not seen her play, I heard that she is a power player. It is hard to win Serena with power play. Usually only finesse and ability to withstand power is what is needed.

Assuming, there are no physical issues (does she have any leg injury?) with Serena, this should be a 2 setter with one tight fought set and one easy set.

I've seen most of Kiki Bertens matches lately and there is a chance she can do it. She's not only a ball basher but have some really fine and variated shots. Hope she's not injured from yesterday. So Kiki is riding on a high and has not lost a match since she began the qualifying in Nürnberg about three weeks ago. Could be fun but it's ok if Serena pulls out of this too. Another thing she's got a lot of Dutch people following her on Philippe-Chatrier. Here a picture from yesterday of Kiki - blonde naturally ;)

Another thing French Open really has to do something about this tournament:

Get a roof - be more FOR the players - use Hawk-eye - get some lights

Otherwise I see no futere for this tournament as a slam event - period. They should swap Madrid and Paris.

Bertens is injured. Serena wins in two sets I predict.

Injured can still make her dangerous as she may just go for her shots especially on serve and return.

Kiki has a lot of potential and since her fitness has improved she is playing great tennis..

Serena comes through and is in the final. She has to start her matches off better than she is at this juncture. Muguruza will not be intimidated. She certainly wasn't in the Wimbledon final, and I would venture to say she feels far more comfortable on clay than grass.

I might have misread an earlier post, but is Serena sporting some kind of abductor injury?

I didn't see anything noticeable with Serena in terms of an injury. She looked more sluggish than anything. I hope she rests up.

Patrick just said he wasn't aware that Marion Bartoli was far closer to Serena than he was. Patrick said he wasn't aware of an injury.

I think Serena will have her hands full tomorrow in the final. Garbine looks strong and confident, I also believe that she is the fresher of the two. I see Serena either going out quietly or having to really grind out a win against someone younger by more than a decade.
